Some of the best breakfast food around...go to the DK and order the number 5--honestly eggs Benedict with corn beef hash is food of the gods. The owner Vince is a good guy who I have known for some time...give him your patronage and he will give you great food, it is as easy as that! May 13th Update----we went to the DK for Mother's Day and the owner gave all mothers free breakfast. I think that was really neat!

I've been going to DK Dinner for over thirty years. I love the DK super burger and the big bacon cheese burger. I ordered a bacon cheese burger yesterday. I received a tiny burger not the usual 1/4 pounder I've known for years. I brought it up to the waitress and she brought it to the attention of the owner. He claimed they are pre-weighed and did not take responsibility for using a small burger by accident. Goodbye. I hate being lied to.

Come on in if you want to exercise your jaw muscles while eating bland and unappealing food! The accommodations: clean. Organized. Old diner feel. Pleasant aesthetic. Service: attentive. Friendly. Food: tasteless. Chewy. Sterile. I ordered eggs Benedict with shredded potatoes. Oh. And coffee. The coffee wasn't bad for diner coffee. Anyway. The eggs? They're supposed to be poached. These were but in that familiar McDonald's style perfect cylinder. The hollandaise sauce was runny and without flavor. The back back was rubbery. The shredded potatoes were chewy. Like, hard plastic. With the same taste. It tasted like they were washed in soupy water and cooked. Honestly, the entire meal tasted like it was prepared in a microwave oven. I do not recommend this place.

Gave this diner a second chance today after horrible experience at Nudy's in Frazer. The 1st time I went to DK, the waitresses were literally screaming at each other. Food wasn't special, walked out with a headache so I looked elsewhere else. Went back today and had steak and eggs, and it was delicious. Steak was cooked perfectly and not fatty. Eggs were done to perfection, and coffee wasn't weak -- and they always filled up my cup -- and collected the dirty dishes. Also appears that they've switched their wait staff -- younger and quieter -- and extremely friendly. Couldn't ask for more

Gave this place two chances. It failed both times. The coffee is just diner coffee, nothing to comment about it. But the food is pretty bad. I wouldn't even say its as basic as any other diner. It just tastes bad. The second time I went, I took two bites of my eggs benedict and couldn't eat anymore. The positive aspect of it: they didn't charge me for the eggs benedict since I couldn't eat it.

Went over the weekend and had a delicious breakfast burrito. Coffee it good and they are always there for a refill. Staff is as friendly as they come and I will be back soon!

DK diner is a cute, retro, old school diner with good food. I am glad this place still exists. It's like stepping back in time when you walk inside. The menu is nothing fancy, but that's why it's a diner! Prices are very reasonable and service is great. What's not to like? If you're feeling nostalgic, stop by.

No matter where I travel, a great diner is a luxury for me. Some people find happiness with super fancy, I find joy discovering a fab diner. While recently visiting beautiful West Chester, (My new home in a week), I stopped in at D-K Diner. Authentic, perfect diner heaven. Food was great and cheap. Owner is a pisser. Patrons and staff friendly, interesting and helpful. I will be living here once I relocate. If you appreciate an authentic diner experience, do not miss this place!

Good breakfast, typical diner fare. The staff was very friendly and the service was quick. I had a waffle and corned beef hash. The diner itself was really cute.

I'm sorry but this guy treats his employees like crap, to the point where it out weighs the nostalgic feel of the place. The place is fairly small so no matter where you're sitting your can hear the gremlin in the back really putting his "help" (that's what he calls them, to their faces) through the ringer. I've been there three times and I've heard racist, sexual and derogatory comments and will not be back. And the long hair monster who wanders the place in your scrunchy?consider a hairnet... And a smile. And a career change. The food, atmosphere and owner are better at Market Street Grille. Trust me!

Nothing fancy. Just a hot typical breakfast-diner. We stop in regularly and are always early enough to beat the crowds. Omelets and homefries are great.

Really mediocre everything. Tried the creamed chip beef over waffle. In about 30 seconds I got a soft, tasteless slop of cream on top of a cold, soggy waffle, and dried out, overcooked home fries. wanted to like this place because it has that old traditional look and feel, but nothing to love about this place (unless you've been coming here since you were a kid). I loved that I didn't have to wait for my food, but im not kidding when I say it came out in less than a minute. WHY AND HOW!? awful tasting food, sorry, but will not be back.

Good diner. In my own experience I've had both better and worse. Probably 3.5 for me but am going conservative for now.

Went today, 12/16, for breakfast ~ No acknowledgement upon arrival; however, everyone else that came in after me and my boyfriend received it. We were asked if we would split a table with the couple that came in directly after us (asking them first). We declined so the table was given to the other couple. The lady of that couple let the hostess know we were there first and the hostess said that she wasn't worried about us. And chuckled. After a minute or so, we were told another 3 mins. At that point, we left. That will be the first and last time we will go there.

More like 2.5 stars. Standard run-of-the-mill diner with the common options you find available for breakfast (e.g., omelettes, pancakes, french toast, etc) just about anywhere. Food itself was very mediocre. Generic/cheap American cheese in my omelette with less than fresh produce. Coffee was bland and burnt. Ditto for the home fries which really could have used a little seasoning besides just salt. Only real exception was that you could sub grits for the home fries. Prices were fairly cheap and most of the breakfast/brunch options were $6-$8 which included toast and home fries. With coffee & tip, it probably was closer to about $9-$10/person. Service was efficient but not terribly friendly either. Younger kids (teens/early 20s) who were generally indifferent. Given that there aren't a ton of other family-friendly options for breakfast on a Saturday/Sunday, it isn't a bad option. Certainly on par with the West Chester Diner out on Route 3. Still, there isn't any special about this place either besides the fact that it has been around for a long time (open since 1947) and some of the chrome decor on the inside. Not a place I will come back to again for breakfast if I had my choice or that I would bring my parents too if they come down to visit. Tip - They don't expect plastic so make sure you have cash because there isn't an ATM located next door. Parking lot also gets crowded with your best bet is to drop off people and park in the adjacent parking lot right next door.

I'm really surprised at all the mediocre reviews for DK. My husband and I love this place. I a Jersey girl, so I guess I'm a sucker for a classic diner. They don't have fancy menu options, just all the basic breakfast and lunch stuff. The prices are reasonable, and plenty of food. They allow you to substitute grits for the home fries, which is great. They just added shredded hash browns as an option instead of home fries, as well as grits. A great idea, since the home fries were the weakest link here. TIP: Order bacon as your meat, for some reason, they give you a huge portion of super crisp bacon. They also have raisin toast if you want, and orange marmelade or apple butter for your toast. I've found the waittresses to be friendly, but maybe that's because we come here so much. We can't come as often, since they don't have high chairs, only booster seats. I have young twin boys, so I can only come here on the rare occasion they are with someone else.

Great place for Sunday morning breakfast, good local flavor. Pancakes are fantastic along with good weekly specials. A good way to start the day.

Hey, it's a diner! I always stop by to have two eggs over easy and the corned beef hash. How can you go wrong with this? The service is ok and there is plenty of on site parking.

Having lived in the WC area for 15+ years, I've long felt the DK was overrated and inexplicably popular. It can be tough to get a table at peak and the waitstaff is grouchy. Parking is difficult. But, it's one of the few Diners in town, so it can have these shortcomings and still be assured a brisk business. Food is competent. In most cases I will go to Mrs. Mike's instead because the food is equivalent but the staff is nice and parking is easy. yelp.com/biz/mrs-mikes-w…

This is your classic hometown diner. Friendly staff, great for breakfast. The only knock is that it gets pretty crowded during peak hours.

Good staff, avoid the sausage gravy and waffles though but the eggs were good and the atmosphere classic american diner.

This place is great! I love that they serve classic breakfast foods, plus some of their own daily and weekend specials. The classic diner feel really adds to the experience, along with the friendly wait staff. If your looking for a family-friendly place that serves great tasting breakfast foods, than this is the place for you!!
